6 Weeks of Christmas Week 1 Wrap Up

Welcome everyone to our final night of 6 weeks of Christmas Week 1! Thank you to everyone who has buckled up and enjoyed the ride this week as I smoothed out all the wrinkles in the plan. I appreciate you all very much!

Before I get into the final 3 cards for the week (oddly enough none of them are Christmas!), I wanted to cover a few changes in the schedule.

Posting will be done as follows: Saturday Evening: New Feature with video, Monday, Wednesday and Friday I will do regular posts with some cards/crafts and maybe a few tutorials. All posts will be scheduled for 7pm CST.

Weekly Prize Patrol Drawing will be done Saturday Evening to give everyone a chance to comment (like, share…) on the Friday posting. Remember, each week is saved and all names go in or the final Grand Prize drawing in December. This will give you up to 6 chances to win.

Speaking of Prize Patrol, Tomorrow evening I will draw for Week 1 Prize Patrol which is a set of 12 cards that where made through the week!

As I mentioned earlier the 3 cards I have tonight are actually not Christmas. Odd… this is 6 Weeks of Christmas right?

Yes it is! However, I feel it’s important for you to see how you can use our stamps, bundles and suites in different ways then they may be intended for.

Throughout the week we have been using Stampin Up Season of Green & Gold Suite Collection and we’ve stayed pretty close to just Christmas for this. Tonight I want to show you how you can use this to make a different kind of card.

It looks nothing like Christmas but I have used the Season of Green & Gold DSP. I simply colored the Gold and Very Vanilla piece with Calypso Coral ink using my Blending Brush! It changes the entire perspective of the suite!

I will get a PDF posted over the weekend for more detials on how I made this card.

More Than Autumn Bundle I have tried mixing up Christmas and Fall this week. Now this bundle could go a million different ways. Tonight I have a sample of how you can use it for celebrating.

With the bright colors and really who doesn’t like donughts! I did not make this event specific as there are many ways to “Celebrate You” and I wanted to leave that open for the perfect occasion.

This card is fairly simple and I will also have a PDF of the details posted for you over the weeken. Possibly tonight if things stay as calm as they have been!

My favorite card of the evening is the Love & Strength card using the Love & Strength Stamp Set.

The Love & Strength set has actually been a bit of struggle for me to use and come up with ideas for. I saw a similar card to this one on Pinterest and I fell in love with the ombré effect of the hearts.

I will give you all the details for this one!

Paper Dimensions:

Peach Pie 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and 3-1/8” x  4-3/8”

Basic White 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”, 3-1/4” x 4-1/2” and  3” x 4-1/4

Simply Irresistible 6” x 6” DSP: 4-1/8” x 5-3/8” and  5/8” x  1-3/4”

I will admit that I cheated just a little bit on the main 3” x 4-1/4” Basic White stamping. I pulled out the old Stampuratus to try and get them to line up perfectly. While I succeeded, mostly, it did take a bit of time to do. Then again anyone who knows me knows I have a love/hate relationship with that thing.

Point of the story there is you can definitely use that to help get things placed exactly where you want them. I did do the inside piece and envelop by hand just to see if I could do it (personal challenge).

I will get a PDF of this card up as well for you all with more details on how I used the Stampuratus to get things in rows.

That wraps up our first week of 6 Weeks of Christmas! Join me tomorrow night as we draw for our weekly prize patrol and watch the exciting new creations I have for you using Stampin Up Reindeer Days Suite Collection!

Happy Stamping!!

6 Weeks of Christmas- Week 1 Fun Fold Calls for Hot Cocoa

Hey everyone! Welcome back to our 6 Weeks of Christmas Event. I have some more fun projects for you this evening.

I do want to share quick that I had intended on posting these yesterday evening but the post didn’t schedule correctly. Going forward Wednesday will be our 2nd day of the week postings which I will have 3 samples and one of them will have a walk through.

Thanks for being super patient as I figure out the scheduling and timing. I will always try to do a 7pm post from here on out. If that time is an issue please reach out to me!

Let’s get to the fun stuff!! I have some pretty cute cards to share with you this evening.

First I have a simple yet elegant card using the Suite of the week, Season of Green and Gold.

The card uses both the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP and the Graceful GreeneryVellum.

Cheerful Celebration tag is from the Greetings of the Season Bundle , stamped in Garden Green and tied off with White Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon and Gold Trim.

Next up I have a unique card using the Love & Strength stamp set.

This card uses Season of Elegance 12” x 12” DSP. This is a new style or technique for me. This is called a drapery fold. I wanted to make it look cascadeing. To do that I centered piece at the edge of the DSP and cut angles on both the top and bottom.

I stamped the mountains on the fold with StazOn Jet Black Ink, I used this ink to prevent any smudging. I also stamped mountains on the DSP behind the fold with Crumb Cake to give a depth to the background. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black . I added some iridescent foil gems.

Final card for the evening is a fun fold that is super cute using More Than Autumn Bundle.

Going to show you  a fun little technique with this card using the DSP on the cup. I will have a walk through for you on how to do this particular card. It looks hard but honestly its super simple!

Paper Measurements are:

Pecan Pie 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 5-1/2” x 6-3/8” score at 4-1/4”, 3-3/4” x 5” and scrap piece for lettering.

Basic White 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 3-1/2” x 4-3/4” (x2) and scraps for stamping and sentiment.

Sentimental Christmas DSP (Pecan Pie Snowflake): 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”,  2” x 5-3/8” and scrap piece for the cup.

Here are all the details…

And that is all for this really cute Hot Cocoa fun fold. If you guys would like a written PDF for this let me know in the comments and I will get one up for you! There is also a full list of products used for all three cards below with links to them in my online store.

Come on back tomorrow for more fun and our Final projects for the week. I will have 3 super cute cards for you with instructions on ALL of them! I will also talk briefly about some changes in the schedule.

Be sure to comment on any posts (Here, Facebook, Instagram…) to get your name in for the weekly drawing!

Happy Stamping!!

6 Weeks of Christmas – Week 1 Samples

Yesterday I posted 3 cards on Facebook and forgot to upload them here! Let me remedy that!!

First we have the Season of Green and Gold Suite Card. This card I used the DSP from the suite and the Greetings of the Season Bundle also in the Suite.

The ribbon used is Stampin Up’s  White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon and I also applied a few Iridescent Foil Gems for some pop.

The second card I have uses the More Than Autumn Bundle. This one I wanted to something non-Christmas for our Pumpkin Spice lovers!

I used Peach Pie, Beige, White and Pecan Pie cardstock for this card, also a Pumpkin Pie scrap piece for the word Pumpkin.

I added some Pecan Pie Dots to the card to add a little something to the finished piece.

The last card I have for you is using the Love & Strength stamp set.

This one I had a little trouble with but I am very happy with the final product. The DSP used for this card is from the Full of Life 6” x 6” DSP. I used Night of Navy cardstock and Ink, as well as some Basic white for the flower and sentiment.

The twine used behind the flower is from the Natural Tones Linen Thread set available online.

I hope these help inspire you with any creations you are currently working on. I know we are to be focusing on Christmas but we need to have a variance here and there!

If you would like instructions to any of these cards please let me know.

I will see you later this week with more cards and ideas for you!

Happy Stamping!

Stamp It Group Thanksgiving Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me this evening for our Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop! I am excited to have you here!

My name is Mikki Winebrenner and today I have a fun and fall card for you using Stampin Up’s Light the Year Bundle and Rustic Crate Stamp Set and Dies.

Thanksgiving is soon upon us! While deciding what to do for a Thanksgiving theme card I knew wanted to use the Light the Year Bundle. I’ve been obsessed with this bundle. There are so many ways to use it and I really wanted to find a way to incorporate it into todays card.

After some Pinterest searching and looking at different lantern/rustic decorations for fall, I decided to use the Rustic Crate Stamp and Dies to give the lanterns a fall look.

I added in the sunset background as it made sense to have lanterns lit at dusk. The way it all came together was better than I expected and I am excited to share it with you all.

Let’s dive on in to the details!

Measurements for the paper are sort of unique but pretty basic:

Pretty Peacock: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” score at 4-1/4”, 2-1/2” x 4”, 4-1/4” x 4-1/4”

Basic White: 4” x 5-1/4”, 4” x 4”, scraps for stamping and sentiment

Scraps of Early Espresso and Smoky Slate

Ink colors that I used in this one are: Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Pebbled Path, Pretty Peacock and Whisper White. For the detail coloring I used Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Stampin Blends Combo Packs.

THERE IS A FULL LIST OF PRODUCTS BELOW WITH LINKS AND PRODUCT NUMBERS

.

I do not have step by step for this card this time but I do have a Free Printable PDF file for you to print all the products and instructions to create this card. You can even change up the colors for more variety!

This card does have a different front style to it. I cut the card front in half (2-3/4” from the top) and attached my Deckled Circles to the space. I really like the unique look it gives.

Halloween/Fall Stamp It Group Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me this evening for our Halloween & Fall Theme Blog Hop! I am excited to have you here!

My name is Mikki Winebrenner and today I have a fun and fall card for you using Stampin Up’s Online Exclusive Potions & Spells Bundle.

Halloween in not a favorite of mine. In fact the only reason I create a few cards is for my daughter and sister who LOVE Halloween.

My idea this year was to focus on Hocus Pocus with coloring and ideas. With there being 3 sisters in the movie and myself having 2 sisters it is almost perfect.

Let’s dive in….or fly in I suppose!

Measurements for the paper are pretty basic:

Basic Black: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” score at 4-1/4”

Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Gorgeous Grape: 1-1/2” x 5-3/8”, plus scrap pieces for the brooms.

Pecan Pie: Scrap piece for boom handles

Basic White: 4” x 5-1/4” (x2), scrap piece for books

Lemon Lime Twist: 2” x 2”

Ink colors that I used in this one are: Memento Tuxedo Black and Lemon Lime Twist Stamp Pads.  Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Blends Combo Packs where also used.

You will also need a small blending brush and 1-1/2” circle punch – if you don’t have one that’s fine, you can adjust the size as you need.

I also used White Gelly Roll Pen to add some highlights.

THERE IS A FULL LIST OF PRODUCTS BELOW WITH LINKS AND PRODUCT NUMBERS.

Attach the final Basic White piece to the inside, stamp your envelope ( forgot to grab pictures of those steps!) and your all done!

I hope this cards gives you a little fun Halloween inspiration! I’ve enjoyed creating this one for all of you.

Team Stamp It Fall Theme Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me this evening for our Fall Theme Blog Hop! I am excited to have you here!

My name is Mikki Winebrenner and today I have a fun and fall card for you using Stampin Up’s Online Exclusive stamp set Scenic Pumpkin Patch.

I will also have a little sneak peak for you with the new Autumn Expressions Stamp set which will be available in September in the Mini Catalog.

Last month I did a Christmas Card using this same set and I wanted to show you all how it can also be used for the “proper” season.

The card does require the use of 7 different colors and is a very stamp heavy card front. There’s A-LOT of stamping with this one!

First let’s get the easy part out of the way! Measurements for the paper are pretty basic:

Cajun Craze: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” score at 4-1/4”

Thoughtful Journey DSP: 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”

Basic White: 4” x 5-1/4” (x2)

Ink colors that I used in this one are: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Wild Wheat, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly.

The color combination may not make sense but it does I promise!

You will need 4-5 blending brushes, I used both small and large ones but did find the smaller ones were a bit easier to work with.

THERE IS A FULL LIST OF PRODUCTS BELOW WITH LINKS AND PRODUCT NUMBERS.

For the card front I recommend that you use your best judgment on placements and even colors.

I used Wild Wheat for the wheat, Cajun Craze for the barn and trees, tree base and barn roof are Early Espresso.

The sky and clouds are Lemon Lolly, Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight.

To add depth between the Wheat and the barn, I layered colors and blended them with the blending brushes. I did add lighter tones in spots to give it a less of a flat landscape.

The sentiment is stamped in Wild Wheat and I fussy cut it out. I added a very light bit of Lemon Lolly to set it off.

Making a sneak peak are Wild Wheat 3/8” Rustic Striped Ribbon and Faux Glass Dots which can also be found in the Mini Catalog annd all belong to the Splendid Autumn Suite Collection.

Normally I would have a PDF for you to download but as life has been its normal crazy I was not able to get one prepared. I will get something up here for you all with measurements and products for you to download soon.

Christmas In July – Stamp It Group Blog Hop

Welcome to Stamp It Group Christmas In July Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining me today for our Christmas celebration! I am excited to have you here!

My name is Mikki Winebrenner and today I have a fun and simple Holiday card for you using Stampin Up Online Exclusive stamp set Scenic Pumpkin Patch.

Yup you read that right, I used a fall set to create this nostalgic feeling Christmas card front. I wanted to keep things as simple as I could and using a stamp set in different ways is always a great way to save time and money!

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am already asking if I can put my decorations up and when is it going to snow! Speaking of snow, if you look close you can see a little bit of snow throughout this card. How did I make this happen? White Pearlized Enamel is how!!

I did not take step by step photos of the process of this card. I did however grab one so you could see how I stamped things out before putting it all together.

Lets jump on into the details!

Cutting & Scoring:

Mossy Meadow 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4”

Iconic Celebrations 6” x 6” DSP: 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”

Basic White 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock : 4” x 5-1/4” (x2), 3-3/4” x 5”

Cherry Cobbler 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock : 4” x 5-1/4”, 1” x 1” cut diagonally to make 4 little triangles.

There is a full list of products below with links and product numbers. There is also a full list of product and the measurements on the PDF file.

In the photo above you can see that I stamped all the images with Pecan Pie ink. In some places I used second generation stamping and in others places, such as the fencing, I actually stamped the images twice to make it darker.

I used the cloud stamp in the set in front of the fencing to give it a feel of piles of snow around the fence line or falling onto the side of a dirt road.

Then I added a little but of Pecan Pie along the edges of the entire piece to give it the sepia effect.

Fun fact! Or trick, I’m not really sure which way it goes but, on the bottom portion of the snow on the fence I used my finger to blend the ink in to give it a better transition and smooth out the harsh lines! A little messy but super effective.

I also used the fence stamping on the second piece of white for the inside of the card. Again, with the blending brushes adding in a little hint of color for an old paper feeling.

Stamp the sentiment with Mossy Meadow above the trees. The sentiment I used is from the Online Exclusive set So Very Merry.

For the snow look I used the White Basic Enamel along the snow lines or any lines that looked like they needed to pop a bit. I also added some to the top of the fence posts, barn and corners of the trees.

Last for the enamel I did small dots all over the card to give a snowfall look. Let the enamel dry for just a few minutes. The thicker the enamel is the longer it takes to dry.

Once you assemble the card front, I just added on those little triangle pieces in the corners to give it more of a photo effect. You do not have to do this step, it looks great with or without them!

That’s all there is to the card. I do have a PDF file for you to download and print.

Stamp It Group Summer Fun Blog Hop

Welcome to Stamp It Group’s Summer Fun  Blog Hop!

I’m so excited for you to be here today with us! My name is Mikki Winebrenner and I have a fun summer themed card for you today using Stampin’ Up To Market Suite Collection.

A little back story for you as to why I chose this Suite for a Summer Fun Blog Hop. When To Market was released I was super excited because my daughter and I attend our local Farmer’s Market every week during the summer and fall as vendors.

We have such a good time meeting new people, visiting with old friends, being present in our community supporting an amazing weekly event and just being outside. A bonus for us is that we have a beautiful garden in the market area.

Let jump on into this beautiful card I have for you. I will not be giving a photo walk through of the build of this card. Silly me only took 3-4 pictures of the process! OOPS!!! While the card itself looks a little complex, the hardest part is putting the basket and bag together!

Some products you will need are: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green and Pecan Pie Classic Stampin Pads. The entire To Market Suite Collection, Natural Polka Dot Trim and Linen Thread.

There is a full list of supplies below with links to the products.

The cardstock measurements are:

Garden Green 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2”

Blackberry Bliss 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 3-3/8” x 4-5/8”,  1/2” x 4-1/4”

To Market 12” x 12” DSP: 4” x 5-1/4”, 1-1/4” x 3-1/8”, 1” x 4-1/4”, 2-3/4” x 4-1/4” (x3), 2” x 2”

Basic White 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 3-1/4” x 4-1/2”

Scraps of Basic White and Pecan Pie for stamping images and sentiment.

The few photos I do have for you are actually very beneficial for those of us who are visual people. As I mentioned earlier, the building of the basket and the bag are the hardest steps in this card. Below are the images with explanations of what I did.

This isn’t really a fun fold card but it does have a fun feature on the inside. I created a pocket with the DSP and there is an insert that can be pulled out and written on. I really like having an opportunity to write a special message in a card and this allows for that.

I have a tutorial PDF free to download with the process of how I put the card together as well as all the products and measurements used.
