I’m so excited for you to be here today with us! My name is Mikki Winebrenner and I have a super fun spring theme card for you today using Cutest Cows Bundle.

I was having a hard time coming up with anything spring. Here in Iowa it’s nice, warm and sunny with no snow, absolutely not normal for February! Still a bit skeptic that it will stay “Spring Like”. But the birds are singing, no shoveling required and the dogs are happy to be outside playing.

Thinking on spring and being outside with the doggo’s I see new buds blooming here and there, some new grass attempting to come through and this gave me the idea of using the Cutest Cows Bundle for a spring theme. Spring is all about new life coming to bloom, which includes those adorable calf’s we see in the fields!

For this card all you need is:

Cutest Cows Bundle, Meandering Meadows 6”x6” DSP, Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green Cardstock and Ink, Basic White Cardstock, Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin Blends and Liquid Glue.

Measurements for the paper are a little different than normal . The card I did is a bit larger then a standard, the good news there is you can use an A6 envelope if you don’t want to make one!

The measurements are:

Balmy Blue 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 6-1/4” x 9” scored at 4-1/2”

DSP: 4-1/4” x 6” and scrap pieces for the lettering

Garden Green and Granny Apple Green 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 3” x 6”

Basic White 8-1/2” x 11” Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 6” and scraps for the cows and sentiment.

I am very much a visual person and have the process of the card coming together here for you in a gallery so you can come back and reference it as you need to. I tried to give little details on what is happening in each picture.

I also included a couple of tips for you that I have found make things a little simpler.

Cut your card base and DSP to size and score.

Cut these two in half, mark 1” and 1-1/2” on the Granny Apple and 3/4” and 1-1/4” on the garden green. These will bet the guide line for your grass cutouts.

I used the grass die from Sending Love Dies to cut them out.

You can see how I layered the colors, for the last row, I used a negative piece that was left over.

Tip! Punch out the builder punch on a scrap piece of cardstock to help line up the stamped images to cut in one go!

Color in the cows. I used multiple colors but that is totally up to you!

Fussy cut and punch out the cows body and heads.

Glue them all together with liquid glue.

Grab a foam sheet, attach a piece of the DSP to one side and cut out the mini alphabet die.

I did not so a full sheet, I only cut out near the letters for SPRING.

Stamp out the sentiment in Balmy Blue. I used the “IT’S” from the sentiment “It’s Your Special Day” stamp.

Stamp the grass out on the bottom of the 6” Basic white.

Stamp a couple of milk container in the corner, masking the first image and then stamping around it. (This will make sense soon!)

Stamp a cow in the opposite corner as the containers.

Tip! Use your grid paper (or glass mat) to line up your sentiments so they are straight on the blocks.

Stamp your sentiment “Milk it for all it’s Worth” in Garden Green in the center! (See what I did there!?)

Color in the cow and the milk containers. I found the blacks hid the grass fairly well.

Attach your cows to the card front, tuck the feet down into the grass a little bit. I only glued the legs and a very little bit on the bottoms to allow them to pop up just a bit. Trim the edges if necessary.

Attach your sentiment with glue and your letters just below.

Attach your Basic White to the inside of the card.
